Global Entrepreneurship Week

This year we at Lucidica are proud to be taking part in Global Entrepreneurship Week – the international initiative designed to promote and inspire innovation in young people around the globe.  Every year over 20,000 organisations come together in cities worldwide to put on events and gatherings to help the brightest self-starters on their road to business success.

The programme was founded in 2004 as Enterprise UK, with the aim of getting people exciting about the possibilities and benefits entrepreneurship offered – the chance to ‘turn passions into profit’ and even beat poverty. The event was so successful that in 2007 GEW was launched by Gordon Brown and Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, to in order to stimulate business innovation and reinvigorate national economies. 5 years on and GEW now takes place in 120 countries worldwide, directly engaging over 7 million people.

This year we’ll be at the London Business Village at the British Library, taking place on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th November. The event is a chance to get advice and expertise from 30 British Library partner organisations on everything from finance and funding to building a network of contacts. Lucidica will be there to help with everything IT and digital marketing. For a full list of the London Business Village exhibitors, click here. Additionally you’ll have the chance to attend master-classes held by inspirational speakers such as former Dragon, Doug Richard, Shell Entrepreneur of the Year 2011, Michael Korn and finance expert, Johnny Martin.

The London Business Village is held at the British Library next to St Pancras International (click here for a map) and is free to attend, so why not head along on Monday 12th or Tuesday 13th November.
